Sintali is proud to announce that its CEO and co-founder, Eleni Polychroniadou, has won the Climate Pioneer category at the 2023 P.E.A Awards. The P.E.A Awards, also known as the People, Environment, Achievement Awards, are the UK’s leading sustainability awards, celebrating the individuals and organisations that are making a positive impact on the planet.
Eleni Polychroniadou was selected as the winner of the Climate Pioneer category, which honours the trailblazers and innovators who are driving the transition to a low-carbon economy. The award was looking for someone who has pushed the envelope in climate to drive authentic and material positive change, and who demonstrates that climate action is good for business.
Eleni has been at the forefront of the corporate sustainability movement for over a decade, co-founding Sintali in 2020 with Tom Saunders with a vision to build trust in sustainability claims and accelerate market transformation globally in the built environment. Under her leadership, Sintali has grown to support clients across every continent across the globe, helping thousands of buildings around the world reduce their carbon footprint and save on energy costs.
“I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive this award, which is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire Sintali team. We are on a mission to make certification simple, accessible and impactful for everyone, and we are grateful for the recognition and support from the P.E.A Awards and the wider sustainability community.” said Eleni Polychroniadou, CEO and co-founder of Sintali. “ While we’ve made strides in integrating climate and sustainability into business decisions, there’s still much to work to do. At Sintali, we’ll continue our work to establish sustainable practices as the new business norm.”
The P.E.A Awards ceremony took place on 25 June 2024 at the Savoy Hotel in London, where Eleni Polychroniadou received her trophy from the award sponsor, Deloitte. The event also featured live performances, speeches and a gala dinner, all with a focus on sustainability and social justice.
‘The P.E.A.s are the only awards I know of that really celebrate the individuals – rather than the brands or businesses – who are shaking things up, often against all odds’, said P.E.A. Awards founder Jarvis Smith. ‘The awards are about giving these heroes a great time and the recognition they deserve.’
